RETRO DESIGN
In the 1960’s, the San Diego shaper Carl Ekstrom began to experiment with what now is referred to as the Asymmetrical shaped board. By combining the rail edges of two different boards, he developed a revolutionary way to master the ride experience. Not only is the off centre positioning of the fins & the distinct pin tail advantageous when holding the wave, so too is the particular design of the back hand rail when perfecting a back handed ride.
This shape is my tribute to a pioneer of the surf industry. Custom orders to suit weight and stance of each individual surfer. Specific ‘Asymm’ fins are best suited for this boards correct set up and performance. This board comes polished to a shine on the deck and a soft satin on the bottom. Once you experience ‘The Asymm’, you’ll never go back!
